I had never been under general anaesthetic before and he very clearly and kindly explained every step of the process, distracted me with conversation, and comforted me when I was frightened. Dr Andren was kind, trustworthy and thoughtful. If I have to have surgery again (here’s hoping I don’t) I would hope to see Dr Andren there.

James Andren was my anaesthetist for an ear operation under general anaesthetic at Burton Hospital on Friday 2nd August. He was attentive, helpful and took time to make everything very clear to me. He gave me the pre-operation briefing, he administered the anaesthetic for the operation and spoke to me after the procedure, at all times he was friendly and professional.
